Due dates noted below

Now that you have reviewed the 21st Century Partnerships website and viewed the Ken Robinson video, review your notes, and then Create a Comment at the end of this Posting that addresses the following questions:
Due, ideally today but definitely no later than Sept 15, 2012 [to give your peers time to respond]
1. Website: How do you respond to the partnerships website and your future responsibility as a 21st century practitioner as outlined by the student outcomes framework and the new literacies [3Rs: Reading, wRiting, aRithmatics & 4Cs: Critical Thinking/Problem Solving, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity & Innovation]
2. Video: Write a statement that includes 1 or 2  ideas that you found interesting in the Robinson's talk. What connections can you make between Robinson's talk and the theme of becoming a 21st century practitioner?
Due by Sept 18, 2012:
Respond to at least THREE of your peers' postings in this discussion thread.

Wednesday Sept 12th

So for today you should have responded to the post from last week on how you are experiencing diversity in your placement[s]. Please be sure to do that right away, if you havent done so already, so that I can respond to your posts this morning.

The theme for today's class is 21st Century Practitioner, and I'd like you to start by going straight to that page in the menu above [also linked HERE]. Later this morning you will see a posting appear above here on the Postings page with guidelines for responding to today's topics. The sooner you post your response the better as your peers will need time to read and post their own comments to your work. It also might be best to post today while the material is still fresh in your mind.

Hope you have fun!

Inquiry Study: Getting Started

Due: Sept 12, 2012

As you are already two weeks into your school placements you have likely already gotten some insights into how diversity exists in your schools and classrooms. The sooner you can focus in on a topic for your inquiry project and start forumlating some critical questions, the better.

To that end, over the next week, I'd like you to really focus in on this topic of Diversity in your placements, maybe jot down some notes, and then Create a Comment at the end of this Posting and address the following questions:

1. How do you see diversity reflected in your school placement?
2. What specific topics related to student diversity do you think you might be interested in exploring?

Welcome to EDU505!
